Most of you know Shaun's story. It has been amazing watching his progress, and seeing him grow spiritually. This last Saturday Brooke and I had the privilege of attending his baptism. It was so amazing! He had one of his best friends, who just got his mission call, baptize him. After he was baptized they stood in the water for almost two minutes crying and hugging each other. It was very very touching. He gave me a big hug and told me thank you over and over again for helping him change his life. His mom was there, and she was so sweet. She is the fourth wife of his dad, Owen Allred, who is the founder of their fundamentalist branch of the FLDS church. She gave me a hug as well and was very very kind. Shaun's friend, who baptized him, came up and gave me a big hug as well. He said that he and a few of their other friends had been working on Shaun for years, trying to get him to join the church. It's amazing how Heavenly Father sent Shaun to Car Town twice so that 2 used car salesmen could help him out!
On Sunday, after his confirmation, he sent me a text saying that the spirit was so strong he couldn't believe it. And that he was so happy.
He is excited to serve a mission and can't wait until he has the chance to go to the temple and get his mission call. What a great guy. I hope everyone is doing great! I love you all so much!
